Electric kettle:

A kettle, also known as a Kettle Hole, is a depression in a glacial outwash drift caused by the melting of a detached mass of glacial ice that became entirely or partially buried.

Electric kettles consume far less energy than electric stovetops or microwaves. A higher wattage electric kettle heats water much faster than an electric stove. When water boils faster, you save money on your electricity bill.

To make tea or coffee, simply fill your kettle with water and allow it to heat to the desired temperature. Then, pour the water into your mug, along with the teabag or coffee.

Electric tea kettles contain material such as  steel, iron, silver, aluminum, or a plastic-metal combination. A typical electric kettle has two electrical components: a heat element and an on/off switch. When electricity is applied to the heat element, it will heat the water inside the kettle to 100 degrees Celsius.

When an electric kettle is plugged in and turned on, electricity flows through the concealed heating element, which contains a metal coil. Electricity flows through the coil, converting to heat and warming the water inside.

How to buy the right kettle:
  • Power. Most kettles have different wattage, usually falling somewhere between 2.3kW and 3kW.
  • Boiling Noise. If noisy appliances cause you irritation, then check if the kettle has a decibel reading.
  • Capacity. How much water do you usually need to boil?
  • Weight
  • Color
  • Ease of Use
  • Element
  • Cleaning
